A developmental workshop of “Einstein’s Dreams,” a new music theater work based on Alan Lightman’s 1992 novella, took place in May 2007 at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Two public showings of the work-in-progress were given:

  • Philadelphia: Friday May 25, 8 pm, 203 Terra Bldg., 211 S. Broad St.
  • New York City: Wednesday May 30, 7 pm, Elebash Recital Hall, CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Ave. (at 34th Street). Sponsored by the CUNY Graduate Center’s “Science and the Arts” series.

Playbill.com ran a short article about the New York presentation. “Einstein’s Dreams” has been the basis for more than two dozen theatrical and musical presentations since its publication in 1993, according to the MIT News Office.

In the May 2007 reading Rachel Radenberg (left) appeared as Mileva (Maric) Einstein, Ed Renninger (center) played Albert Einstein and Oliver Lidert portrayed Michele Besso.
